Tab Update: First Quarter 2025

Hello, friends, fans and gaming family! Welcome to 2025.

Saying that still sounds like the futue to us. But maybe we're just getting older. Anyway, we hope it's a bright future for all of you, and not a dark one! We've got some big things planned for it, but first let's go over all that we accomplished in 2024.

Let's start with our biggest announcement of the year, Shadows Over Sol: Second Edition. If you haven't followed it on Kickstarter yet, now is the time to do so! Every follower the campaign has helps boost its visibility. So go do that RIGHT NOW. It launches on Kickstarter in the summer.

The other big crowdfunding campaign we announced (and ran) in 2024 was theĀ Strange Bedfellows campaign and sourcebook for Age of Ambition. It follows a group of movers and shakers in the city of Melanoc as they seek to improve the realm, advance their personal ambitions, navigate politics and face an apocalyptic danger lurking in their midst.

This is your last chance to preorder it and get the extras, as it could release to the public as early as next week!

In addition to the big stuff we just mentioned, we also had a good number of smaller releases throughout the year. We released The Cytherean Malignancy, Mercurial Ruin and The Lotus-Eaters for Shadows Over Sol. For Dime Adventures we released Ballgame Diplomacy. For Age of Ambition we released the Game Master's Toolkit, The Chemist's Gambit and Melanoc Adventures and The Black Auction.

A fair amount of work went in behind the scenes as well, preparing for the future. Our Saga Machine Unified playtest released multiple packets throughout the year, and concluded the open phase of its playtesting. The updated system we developed in collaboration with fan feedback will see its first release this summer with Shadows Over Sol 2e.

We also put a fair amount of effort into our Foundry VTT support for Saga Machine Unified, paving the way for future releases and for a better all-around digital experience. In the fall, our Foundry integration moved from being an Alpha release to a Beta release. Expect the full 1.0 release sometime this upcoming year.

In 2024 we also decided to up our social media game! We now have accounts where you can follow us on Bluesky, Discord, Instagram, YouTube and Threads. We also continue to post on our Reddit and Facebook. Meanwhile, our Twitter has been deprecated, and while we have a TikTok account, we don't actively use it.

As you can see, we've been busy. So let's talk about the road ahead.

As we've mentioned, theĀ Strange Bedfellows campaign and sourcebook for Age of Ambition releases to the public either next week or as soon as the physical copies begin to be sent out to backers.

After that, and for basically the first half of the year, we're "All Hands on Deck" preparing for Shadows Over Sol 2e. Expect to hear a lot more about it in the coming months, as the game reaches its final stage of development, and as we begin to ramp up our social media efforts to get the word out.

In addition, in support of Shadows Over Sol 2e and the upcoming Terra Alpha audio drama, we plan to release four Shadows Over Sol one-sheet scenarios, as well as a Second Edition of the Quick-Start. These will be released to our patrons one per month for the first part of this year. The general public will get access to them sometime in the spring or summer.

Speaking of which, in 2025 Patreon is changing its billing structure, and the billing method we have long used is going away. In response, we have revised how release new products to patrons. You haven't checked our our Patreon recently, now is a great opportunity to do so! Get access to the Saga Machine SRD, as well as to all of our releases before the general public!

Finally, looking further to the future, we have at least one Shadows Over Sol scenario, two Age of Ambition supplements and a couple Dime Adventures one-sheets lined up for the second half of the year.

That's where everything stands right now. Have a brilliant year and good gaming, everyone!
