What Lies Beneath: Week 5

We're happy to announce that What Lies Beneath's editing pass is now complete! It was finished this past week and the book has since moved into layout. Meanwhile, work is ongoing on two pieces of art, as well as the poster map. And although it's not strictly related, this week we also wrapped up the Shadows Over Sol: Dark Abyss quickstarter and sent backers their PDF rewards.

In the coming week, we plan to finish our initial layout pass and to begin inserting spot art, and massaging blocks of text that don't quite fit the layout of the pages. This will allow us to take stock of our remaining art requirements and to begin our final wave of commissions.

Here is where everything currently stands. Entries that are underlined had their status changed since last week.

What Lies Beneath: Week 4

We're now almost a month into What Lies Beneath's production. Since the last weekly update, our editing pass has advanced to roughly 82% complete. Meanwhile, we received another completed piece of artwork and saw work-in-progress sketches of two more, including the artwork for the poster map. Our Black Friday sale also wrapped up and the Quickstarter for Shadows Over Sol: Dark Abyss is ongoing.

What Lies Beneath: Week 6

This past week we’ve made great progress whipping the layout of What Lies Beneath into shape! In fact, we are now happy to report that the vast bulk of the layout work is done. However, page references still need to be added; the table of contents and index both need to be generated; and there are still four pages where the text needs to be massaged slightly to fit the space. Once these tasks are completed, the book will officially move from layout into art direction.
