This week's Freebie Spotlight puts aside the equipment references for a bit, and instead provides a useful aid to game masters designing combat encounters. It is the Encounter Worksheet, a handy sheet to have when planning or running a party through such an encounter, as it provides an organized way to track the antagonists' stats, health, composure, etc.--as well as providing a place for other notes concerning the initiative order, terrain obstacles, and so on....

It's a brand new year and things are looking good for the Tab Creations Collective. This last year was marked by the release of Tab-System Classic, a revision of our legacy card-based system dating back to the originalSwords & Arrows Role-Playing Game, and the rest of the year was mostly spend in the development of our brand new house system Saga Machine, which was released on schedule in late November. With these two systems out of the way, it clears up our schedule for working on what has always been the fun part--settings. Finally, we have begun our ongoing online support of Saga Machine, with weekly "Freebie Spotlights," presenting tidbits of Saga Machine bonus content, appearing during any week there is not otherwise an important Tab announcement (such as this week's quarterly Tab Update)....
In the Saga Machine core rulebook, the Low-Tech Weapons section lacks weapon descriptions, unlike either the High-Tech or Future-Tech weapons sections, on the assumption that players will be familiar with the variety of weapons provided there. However, those those of you who aren't, we now present the Low-Tech Weapons Descriptions Sheet, giving a table of all of the Low-Tech weapons listed in the Saga Machine core rulebook, along with a brief description. In addition, the weapons table has been reorganized to group weapons together by alphabetical order and basic function. Useful....

After a great deal of problems with our old website host, I have finally decided to move the site to a new hosting company. If you are reading this, then the site should now be successfully moved. The main pages, as well as the wiki are currently back online and functioning properly. The forum, while online, still has a few kinks to be worked out, as the site move has forced an upgrade in version of phpbb. The new version doesn't have a 100% compatible database schema, so some manual tinkering will be required. I'll let everyone know when this is done....
