It's the last quarter of the year, and time for another Tab Update. It's been a slow quarter for Tab, but there has been some ongoing development. Let me sum it up:...
Since it was discussed at the last Tab meeting that we should leverage social networks to help promote the Collective, we went ahead and made a Facebook page for Tab Creations. Now you can add the page to your Facebook profile, comment on the Collective there and do other social networking stuff. Tab events, such as the con presence we discussed at the last meeting should also be posted there....
Another quarter has passed, and we've recently had our usual summer Tab meeting. While there haven't been any new releases this quarter, we have had definite progress made on a number of fronts. Let me sum up:...
Oh boy, it's been quite a while since we had out last freebie spotlight. But this quarter shan't be entirely devoid of them. Therefore, without further ado, I present to you: Random Stat Generation & Card-Based Alternate Action Mechanic. It's a long title, but this freebie is twofold. First, it has an alternate means of generating a character's stats through random rolls, for those who like that sort of thing. Then, it also includes an alternate action mechanic for determining success or failure through the use of a standard poker deck--much in the spirit of Tab-System Classic....
This quarter, things are still cranking away at Tab Creations, even if they are progressing a little slower than we would have liked. Like many times before, things have been slowed because we attempted to bite off more than we could chew at once....
The next Freebie Spotlight is up. This time it's the Saga Machine Player Cheatsheet, providing most of the tables and combat reminders players might need to reference quickly in a Saga Machine game! This cheatsheet is conveniently condensed down to two pages, for ease of printing on a single sheet of paper, front and back....
It's a resource that we've been putting off completing for a while now, but now it is finally done. I speak, of course, of the official Saga Machine GM Screen. This three-page landscape-style screen presents most of the important tables found in the core Saga Machine book in a concise and condensed format, perfect for easy reference by game masters during a session. This landscape layout also allows for easy use with a number of interchangeable GM Screen displays on the market, or holds together well if printed on simple cardstock....
This week we have another variant character sheet online. This time it's the Blank Skills Character Sheet, a variation of our All-Modules Character Sheet, except with the skills in the skills section left blank. This sheet is useful for Saga Machine games do not make use of the default skills list....
It took slightly longer than expected, but it's finally here: The 'Trystell: Reborn - Basics supplement has been released! Not only is this the very first supplement to Saga Machine, it also is the very first of our PDF supplements supporting theTrystell: Reborn setting, the new re-envisioned version of Trystell (Trystell has long the Tab Creations Collective's flagship campaign setting). Weighing in at 58 pages, the Basics supplement present everything one needs to play in the Trystell: Reborn setting using the Saga Machine ruleset....
If you're familiar with Saga Machine you know it's basic action mechanic involves rolling three ten-sided dice and using the middle result. In this Freebie Spotlight we present out first set of alternate rule options, this time focusing on different possible core action mechanics. Included in the spotlight are rules for how to change Saga Machine's core mechanic to use 3d4-2 (for a steeper bell curve) or use 1d10 (for a simple, linear set of results). Check it out at Alternate Action Mechanics. And keep an eye open for the first Trystell: Reborn supplement coming out in the very near future....
