Fourth Quarter 2008 Tab Update

By all accounts, the main push recently has been the completion of Saga Machine, which is currently entering the the second half of its playtesting phase. Much progress has been made on the game, and it certainly runs a lot smoother now than it did before the playtest....

New Website Host

After a great deal of problems with our old website host, I have finally decided to move the site to a new hosting company. If you are reading this, then the site should now be successfully moved. The main pages, as well as the wiki are currently back online and functioning properly. The forum, while online, still has a few kinks to be worked out, as the site move has forced an upgrade in version of phpbb. The new version doesn't have a 100% compatible database schema, so some manual tinkering will be required. I'll let everyone know when this is done....

Third Quarter 2008 Tab Update

It looks like Tab-System Neo is being renamed Saga Machine. The final thoughts are still being noted, but a long brainstorming session during the summer meeting produced that as the best candidate for a system name. Meanwhile, whatever the system is called, it is now pretty much done with development and into playtest. There it is expected to remain throughout this quarter, and to go into layout sometime next quarter....

Tab-System Neo Preview 4

The fourth preview of the upcoming Tab-System Neo is here. Not only does this preview have the completed versions of the Environmental and Mental modules, but it also have twice as many traits as the last preview and the beginnings of the Social module. The system is looking more and more complete all the time. In fact, this may be the last preview before the playtest version is released. Huzzah!...

Second Quarter 2008 Tab Update

This has been a busy quarter for the Collective, despite appearances to the contrary. Of foremost note, Tab-System Classic was completed and has made its way into the online store. Development of Trystell Reborncontinues to advance, although admittedly slowly. But the changes generated from the forum discussion so far have been consolidated into a single wiki page where they are all in one place and readily available....

Tab-System Classic Written!

I finished the writing Tab-System Classic today, with the final word count being 48,700 words and totaling 65 pages of pure card-based gaming. Included in the book is a revised, setting-neutral version of the old Swords & Arrows card-based system. Also included in the appendices are rules for running the game set in Trystell, The Zeotis, as well as the Antarctic Expedition campaign we played that crossed Arth with Nexus Endtime....

First Quarter 2008 Tab Update

As you read this work on Tab-System Classic nears completion. The book is almost all put together, The only parts remaining really are the bestiary and the appendix. It ought to be available on the site in PDF by the end of February, when I plan to open it up for beta testing. Please, check it out then. Point out typos. Run a one-shot and give feedback. The more the better, and the better we can make the final version of game when it is printed up. (Print copies surely will be available by the summer trip to Manhattan.)...

Introducing the New Website

As of today the new version of the Tab Creations website has gone live. This new version of the website features an improved style, easier management and for the first time ever: an integrated products page! Just look at the link to the right; it's got all Tab Creations' books, as well as a number of nifty branded items....

Tab-System Neo Preview 3 & Tab-System Classic Preview 2

I have new previews uploaded of Tab-System Neo and Tab-System Classic. Tab-Neo is now over twice the length of the former preview. That's almost 70 pages long! It now includes the full combat system, as well as part of the environment module and some traits, actions and consequences listed in the appendices. At this point the game is also just playable as a game in its own right. Next I'll work on finishing the Environment Module and then do the Mental Module (which will include the spell system)....

Tab-System Neo Preview 2 + Tab-System Classic Preview

I have now uploaded to the site a new preview of Tab-System Neo. You can get it HERE. This new version includes several corrections to the material seen in the last preview, as well as a completely new chapter covering the Character Design Module (character creation and character advancement). The work is now 34 pages long, but I expect it to be over 100 once complete. (Also note that I have yet to add artwork to the document.)...
